In addition to the powers and duties provided in Section 40-1-70, the board may: (1) establish a time limit beyond which an initial complaint may not be considered; (2) order remedial action to be taken by an entity or individual found in violation of this chapter or a regulation promulgated pursuant to this chapter; (3) establish procedures for receiving and investigating initial complaints which protect the anonymity of the person filing the initial complaint in appropriate situations; (4) delegate the authority to the department to request any alarm business owner or registered employee to submit an updated criminal background check when there is reason to believe that a change in the individual's background record has occurred; and (5) by regulation, establish requirements for the implementation of this chapter as the board considers necessary.
