§ 44-43-580

(A) It is unlawful for a person to sell or buy a dead human body or in any way to traffic in dead human bodies. (B) A person who violates subsection (A) is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than two hundred dollars or, in the discretion of the court, be imprisoned not more than one year; however, the board may, on the application of any person, empower that person to import into this State and traffic in anatomical material and pathological specimens as the board may designate.
