The Commission shall select markers and appropriately mark and designate points and places of historical interest in the three counties. The Commission shall be responsible for the operation and upkeep of such historical sites. It shall receive and disburse funds, accept donations, and compile, print and sell historical pamphlets. In addition, the Commission shall advise the county legislative delegations on matters of historical interest in the three counties. Effective March 1, 2012, the name of the Pendleton District Agricultural Museum established and operated by the Pendleton District Historical and Recreational Commission, pursuant to Section 6-11-2720, must be the 'Bart Garrison Agricultural Museum of South Carolina'. The commission shall erect appropriate markers and signs reflecting the name of the agricultural museum as the 'Bart Garrison Agricultural Museum of South Carolina'.
