§ 8-27-40

Notwithstanding the filing of a report pursuant to this chapter, a public body may dismiss, suspend, demote, or decrease the compensation of an employee for causes independent of the filing of a protected report as described in Section 8-27-20. HISTORY: 1988 Act No. 354, eff March 14, 1988; 1993 Act No. 164, Part II, Section 37D, eff June 21, 1993, and applies with respect to any personnel actions taken after that date.
