Designation of archaeological register sites--Consent required.The State Historical Society Board of Trustees may publicly designate an archaeological site of significance to the scientific study of public representation of the state's historical, prehistorical, or aboriginal past as a state archaeological register site. However, no site may be designated as a state archaeological register site without the express written consent of the state agency having jurisdiction over the land in question or, if it is on privately owned land, of the landowner.
