Exception for registered sex offender circulating nominating petition on his or her own behalf.The provisions of §12-1-32 do not apply, if the registered sex offender is circulating any nominating petitions on his or her own behalf for election to any federal, state, or local office for which the registered sex offender is otherwise qualified.
