13-6-1. Definition of terms.Terms used in this chapter mean:(1)'Joint district,' a school district having territory in two or more adjoining counties. Jurisdiction within a joint district is determined as provided in §13-5-14;(2)'Party,' any person or municipality interested in any proceedings under the provisions of this chapter;(3)'Plan,' a plan proposing the formation or elimination of one or more school district entities;(4)'Reorganization,' the formation, consolidation, or subdivision of school districts;(5)'Requirements and limitations for reorganization,' those requirements and limitations provided by law;(6)'State board,' the South Dakota Board of Education Standards;(7)'Consolidation,' the combining of two or more districts in which a new district and school board are created.
