Time and place of hearing--Publication of notice.Upon the presentation and filing of the petition, a time and place shall be fixed by the court for hearing the petition, and notice of the petition and hearing shall be given by publishing a notice of the petition and hearing in the official newspaper of the school district at least once each week for at least two consecutive weeks. The first publication may not be less than fifteen days before the date of the hearing.
