15-2-15. Actions for libel, slander, assault, battery, or false imprisonment--Actions for statutory forfeitures or penalties--Actions concerning wages.Except where, in special cases, a different limitation is prescribed by statute, the following civil actions other than for the recovery of real property can be commenced only within two years after the cause of action shall have accrued:(1)An action for libel, slander, assault, battery, or false imprisonment;(2)An action upon a statute for a forfeiture or penalty to the state;(3)An action for wages regulated by either state or federal statute or for a penalty or liquidated damages for failure to pay wages regulated by either such state or federal statute;(4)An action for wages or for a liability or penalty for failure to pay wages in accordance with the provisions of any contract or statute.
