23-3-35.4. Law enforcement canine team certification--Specialties.Each law enforcement canine team in the state shall be initially certified and annually recertified in one or more of the following specialties:(1)The detection of the odors of drugs and controlled substances;(2)The detection of the odors of explosive materials, explosive devices, and materials which can be used to construct an explosive device;(3)The detection of odors of any other substance or material which can be used with criminal intent;(4)Apprehension or search skills including tracking, building suspect search, article recovery, evidence search, and suspect apprehension.
