Date and time of execution--Secretary of corrections to make public announcement.The week so appointed may not be less than six months or more than eight months after the date of judgment of death. The time of execution within the week is in the discretion of the secretary of corrections to whom the warrant is directed. The secretary shall cause the execution to be performed on some day of such week. Not less than forty-eight hours prior to the execution, the secretary shall make a public announcement of the scheduled day and hour of the execution.
