24-15A-23. Application for clemency--Waiting period if denied--Period for crime of violence.The board may not hear an application for clemency for one year after the date of the judgment. If an application for clemency is denied, an inmate may not again present an application for clemency for a period of one year. If an application for clemency is denied for an inmate convicted of a crime of violence, as defined in subdivision 22-1-2(9), and sentenced to life imprisonment, the inmate may not again present an application for clemency for a period of four years.
