26-8A-17. Child protection teams.The secretary of social services may appoint child protection teams to assist in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. A child protection team may include licensed or certified medical and health professionals, the court services officer recommended by the presiding judge of a judicial circuit in which the team is to operate, the secretaries of social services and health or their designees, a representative of a mental health center, a representative of a public school district in which the team is to operate, an attorney, a foster parent, and one or more representatives of the public.
