32-4-1. Duty of law officers to report stolen or recovered vehicles--Holding vehicles.It is the duty of the Division of Criminal Investigation, the highway patrol, the sheriff or deputies of every county of the state, and of the chief of police or commissioner of police of every municipality, of this state to make an immediate report to the attorney general of all motor vehicles reported to them as stolen or recovered.
