Oversize permits--Duration--Rules.A manufacturer of agricultural machinery or equipment transporting machinery or equipment manufactured in South Dakota to a point in South Dakota; a dealer in and commercial carrier of oversize farm implements; a farmer or rancher transporting oversize farm implements; a commercial operator of oversize farm implements doing business in this state; a municipal operator of sludge hauling vehicles; a person engaged in hauling livestock, stacked feed, baled hay, or baled flax straw; a municipal or commercial hauler of baled garbage; a person engaged in hauling mobile homes manufactured in this state; or a manufacturer, user, or producer of construction machinery, equipment, or materials used or produced in South Dakota may apply to the Division of Highway Patrol for an oversize permit. The Division of Highway Patrol may grant the permit for a period not to exceed twelve months. The Department of Transportation may specify the routes or classes of highways which may be used by the permit holder.
