32-22-6. Flagging or lighting extended loads--Violations as misdemeanors.During daylight hours if the load on any vehicle extends more than four feet beyond the rear of the bed or body thereof, there shall be displayed at the end of the load in a position which is clearly visible at all times from the rear of the load a red flag not less than twelve inches both in length and width. A violation of this flagging requirement is a Class 2 misdemeanor. During the time period one-half hour after sunset and one-half hour before sunrise there shall be displayed at the end of the load a red light plainly visible under normal atmospheric conditions at least two hundred feet from the rear of the vehicle.
