34-21-50. Investigation of waste disposal applicants located within fifty miles of state borders.If any application is filed with any local, state, or federal agency for a permit for any facility or operation for the transportation, storage, treatment, or disposal of radioactive waste or hazardous waste within fifty miles of the borders of the State of South Dakota, which may pose a threat to the natural or financial resources of the state, the attorney general, with the assistance of the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, shall investigate the background of the applicant pursuant to §34-21-51.
