34-29A-9. Examinations for inspectors--Scope--Second examination on appeal--Records available to applicant and employer.Examination for chief, deputy, or special inspectors shall be in writing and shall be under the direction of the Department of Public Safety. Such examination shall be confined to questions the answers to which will aid in determining the fitness and competency of the applicant for the intended service, and may be those prepared by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. In case an applicant for an inspector's commission fails to pass the examination, he may appeal to the Department of Public Safety for another examination which shall be given within ninety days.
