34A-16-26. Insurance.The district may require any employee to obtain and file with it an individual bond or fidelity insurance policy. It may procure insurance in amounts it deems necessary to insure against liability of the district, the board of commissioners or employees, for personal injury or death and property damage or destruction, and against risks of damage to or destruction of any of its facilities, equipment or other property as it deems necessary, or the district board may determine to self-insure for some or all of such risks. The district may procure or arrange for the procurement of any form of insurance for the protection or benefit of its employees. Source: SL 1993, ch 259, §28.
