Nutrition or dietetics practice--Nutrition care services.A practice in nutrition or dietetics involves the integration and application of scientific principles of food, nutrition, biochemistry, physiology, management, and behavioral and social science to achieve and maintain the health of people. The primary function of a nutrition and dietetic practice is the provision of the following nutrition care services:(1)Assessing the nutritional needs of individuals and groups;(2)Establishing priorities, goals, and objectives that meet nutritional needs;(3)Providing nutrition counseling in health and disease;(4)Developing, implementing, and managing nutrition care systems; and(5)Evaluating, making changes in, and maintaining appropriate standards of quality in nutrition care.
