38-24A-6. Quarantines and embargoes authorized.The secretary of agriculture and natural resources is authorized to quarantine this state or any portion thereof when he shall determine that such action is necessary to prevent or retard the spread of a pest within or from this state and to place an embargo on articles from any other state or portion thereof whenever he determines that a pest exists therein and that such action is necessary to prevent or retard its spread into this state.
