39-4-1. Food defined.The word 'food' as used in this title shall include all substances used as food, drink, confectionery, or condiment by man or other animals, whether simple, mixed, or compound, and all substances or ingredients to be added to foods for any purpose. For the purposes of this chapter, the word 'food' specifically includes bottled water for sale to the public, the quality of which is regulated by the secretary of agriculture and natural resources as provided for under this chapter.
