Section 41-2-5 - Removal of commissioner from office--Procedure

Removal of commissioner from office--Procedure.The Governor may remove a game, fish and parks commissioner for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or misconduct in office after giving the commissioner a copy of the charges against the commissioner and opportunity to be heard publicly in person or by counsel in his or her own defense, upon not less than ten days' notice. If the commissioner is removed, the Governor shall file in the Office of the Secretary of State a complete statement of all charges made against the commissioner and his or her findings on the charges, together with a complete record of the proceedings.
