Confidentiality period of certain mineral exploration reports.Any written geologic report, aquifer penetration report, map, test hole log, or other information relative to the geologic data, size, extent, or economic value of a mineral deposit filed with the state by a person who conducted a mineral exploration operation which was initiated or permitted before July 1, 1982, is confidential for a period of six months following July 1, 2008. Any person who filed such reports or information may request the secretary of agriculture and natural resources, in writing, to extend the six month confidentiality period by up to five years.
