Section 49-34-14 - Overcharging--Civil fine--Charging station exempt

Overcharging--Civil fine--Charging station exempt.Any person who knowingly charges any consumer of gas or electricity an amount greater than that actually billed by a gas utility or electric utility, as defined in §49-34A-1, may be punished by a civil fine not exceeding five hundred dollars. Nothing in this section applies to an electric vehicle charging station selling or providing electricity pursuant to §49-34A-116.
