58-6-1. Certificate of authority required for transaction of insurance business--Exceptions--Violation as misdemeanor.No person may act as an insurer and no insurer or its insurance producers, attorneys, subscribers, or representatives may directly transact insurance in this state except as authorized by a subsisting certificate of authority issued to the insurer by the director, except as to such transactions as are expressly otherwise provided for in this title.
