7-16-25. Establishment of office of regional prosecutor--Notice requirement--Option to withdraw from or modify agreement--Election of state's attorney.Any board of county commissioners entering into an agreement establishing the office of regional prosecutor shall give notice before January first of the year of the next general election in which the state's attorney would be elected. Any party to the agreement may give notice of its intent to withdraw from the agreement or to modify the terms of the agreement at any time before January first of the year of the next general election in which the regional prosecutor would be elected. Any county withdrawing from such an agreement, and not entering another, shall proceed to the election of a state's attorney. Source: SL 1996, ch 54, §2.
