Without the consent of such witness there shall not be admitted into evidence in any civil proceeding in the courts of this state the testimony of a witness given before any committee of the general assembly of the state; provided such testimony when given was pertinent to the inquiry of such committee or responsive to a question from such committee.Acts 1959, ch. 27, § 1; T.C.A., § 24-717; T.C.A § 24-7-113.
