Section 29-13-301 - Part definitions

As used in this part, unless the context otherwise requires:(1) 'Commission' means the Tennessee claims commission created pursuant to § 9-8-301;(2) 'Criminal injuries compensation award' means the compensation awarded pursuant to part 1 of this chapter;(3) 'Division' means the division of claims and risk management created pursuant to § 9-8-401;(4) 'Guardian ad litem' means a responsible adult appointed by the juvenile court to protect the rights and interests of the minor;(5) 'Juvenile court' means the court having juvenile court jurisdiction in the county where the minor resides; and(6) 'Minor' means any person who has not attained eighteen (18) years of age and who has not been otherwise emancipated.Acts 1993, ch. 494, § 1; 1994, ch. 808, § 1.
