Section 29-13-303 - Basis for encroachment of funds

Encroachment on the funds shall be allowed for any injury related expenses specifically contemplated by the commission or the division in granting the compensation award. Encroachment on the funds may also be allowed for unusual medical expenses, including, but not limited to, eyeglasses or braces, or for unusual educational opportunities, such as school field trips, or, with good cause shown, other need of the minor, provided such need is not for normal living expenses. Encroachment on the funds shall not be allowed if the minor is legally entitled to receive payment for such expenses from any other public or private source including, but not limited to, insurance, TennCare or medicaid.Acts 1993, ch. 494, § 1.
