Section 29-17-1001 - Continuance of condemnation trial

In any case in which the state of Tennessee, its counties or municipalities exercise the power of eminent domain to acquire land for the construction, reconstruction, maintenance, repair, drainage or protection of any street, road, highway, freeway or parkway under this chapter and chapter 16 of this title or any other law, and the owner of the condemned property is not satisfied with the amount of damages offered, such owner may, upon motion filed with the proper court not less than ninety (90) days prior to the trial on the issue of damages, request that such trial be continued until the highway for which the land was condemned, or any work being done thereto, is completed.
