Section 29-17-601 - Coast and geodetic survey

Any person employed under an act of congress of the United States, passed on August 6, 1947, and of the supplements thereto, or under the direction of congress, to provide charts and related information for the safe navigation of marine and air commerce and for other purposes, may enter upon lands within this state for the purpose of exploring, triangulating, leveling, surveying, and of doing any other act which may be necessary to carry out the objects of such laws, and may erect any works, stations, buildings, and appendages requisite for that purpose, doing no unnecessary injury thereby.Acts 1877, ch. 24, § 1; Shan., § 1877; Code 1932, § 3142; modified; T.C.A.
