Section 36-5-3111 - Costs

(a) When an order is registered by the department of human services or its contractors, the fee shall be waived for the department or its contractors.(b) The respondent shall be liable for the costs of the issuing court and the registering court together with the required filing fee, upon the court finding the respondent liable for the failure to pay the support as required by the registered order. The costs shall be apportioned between the clerks of the issuing court and the registering court according to their fees, costs and the taxes due.(c) The clerk shall file any request for registration and carry out the requirements of this part, even without receiving the appropriate fee for such request. If not paid, such sum shall be added to the cost bill to be assessed by the registering court. Acts 1997, ch. 551, § 6; 2005, ch. 429, §§ 9, 10.
