Section 37-5-133 - Medical or full-time school enrollment verification

By July 1, 2022, and every year thereafter, the department of children's services shall require any person receiving federal or state-funded adoption assistance from the department for adopting a child to provide the department with verification from the adopted child's current medical or mental health professional provider or verification of full-time school enrollment from the school the child attends. The medical or full-time school enrollment verification shall consist of a form or forms developed by the department, but must not require any records from those providing the verification. The department may initiate a visit to ascertain the well-being of the child if the person fails to provide the required documentation.Added by 2021 Tenn. Acts, ch. 163,s 1, eff. 7/1/2021.
