(a) The director shall have authority to commission Tennessee bureau of investigation (TBI) uniformed officers in order to protect and provide security for TBI facilities, employees, and grounds.(b) Such uniformed officers shall have full power to carry firearms and make arrests for any offenses under the laws of the state of Tennessee.(c) All TBI uniformed officers must successfully complete a prescribed basic law enforcement course of instruction at the Jerry F.
