Section 4-29-104 - Hearings

(a) Prior to the termination, continuation, reestablishment or restructuring of any governmental entity, the evaluation committee created in § 4-29-103 shall hold at least one (1) public hearing and receive testimony from the public and from the administrative head of the governmental entity.(b) The governmental entity shall have the burden of demonstrating the public need for its continued existence and the extent to which any change in organization, structure or transfer to another department of state government for administrative purposes would increase the operational or administrative effectiveness and efficiency of such entity.(c) Notice of the time and place of the public hearing must be posted on the general assembly website at least seven (7) days prior to the hearing.Amended by 2021 Tenn.
