Section 4-4-122 - Employees who are victims of criminal offenses - Restraints on exercise of rights prohibited - Grievance procedure

(a) No branch, department, agency or other subdivision of state government shall terminate, dismiss, demote or take any other disciplinary action against an employee of such entity who is the victim of a criminal offense solely because such employee takes any lawful action to cause or assist in causing the arrest, prosecution and conviction of the perpetrator of such offense.(b) No branch, department, agency or other subdivision of state government shall by rule, regulation or policy prohibit an employee thereof who is the victim of a criminal offense from taking any lawful action to cause or assist in causing the arrest, prosecution and conviction of the perpetrator of such offense.(c) Any state employee adversely affected by a violation of this section shall be entitled to file a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure set out in § 8-30-318. The procedure and remedies set out in § 8-30-318 shall govern violations of this section.Acts 1991, ch. 239, § 1.
