Section 4-5-324 - Training program for administrative judges or hearing officers

(a) Each person employed to serve as an administrative judge or hearing officer within the executive branch shall, within the six-month period following the date of such employment, participate in a program of training for administrative judges and hearing officers conducted by the department of human resources, division of training. The department shall issue a certificate of participation to each judge or officer whose attendance is satisfactory.(b) An administrative judge or hearing officer who hears contested cases referred to the office of the secretary of state by a public institution of postsecondary or higher education involving allegations of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking shall annually participate in training that satisfies the requirements of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 ( 20 U.S.C. § 1681 ), the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act ( 20 U.S.C. § 1092(f) ), and the federal regulations implementing those statutes, as amended.Amended by 2018 Tenn.
