(a) The matron of the state penitentiary shall be appointed by the commissioner of correction, and shall receive a salary, payable monthly upon the warrant of the commissioner of finance and administration.(b) It is the matron's duty to look after the moral conduct and general welfare of the female inmates, and to perform such other duties as may be required by the commissioner.Acts 1919, ch. 39, § 10; impl. am.
