Section 4-7-106 - Enforcement of animal disease laws

(a) The Tennessee highway patrol is granted the further authority, and it is its duty, to enforce title 44, chapter 2, part 1, relative to the prevention of the spread of communicable diseases among domestic animals and protection to the livestock industry.(b) The Tennessee highway patrol is granted the same authority and police power to enforce title 44, chapter 2 as is vested in the commissioner of agriculture and in the state veterinarian by title 44, chapter 2.(c) Any fines assessed and collected under title 44, chapter 2, part 1 in arrests made by the Tennessee highway patrol shall be divided, one-half (1/2) to the department of agriculture and one-half (1/2) to the Tennessee highway patrol.Acts 1939, ch. 41, §§ 1, 2; C.
