(a) It is unlawful for any person who is not a grower or producer of cotton, or who is not engaged in the business of buying and selling cotton, to buy, sell or offer for sale, or possess for purposes of sale, any loose lint cotton or ginned cotton that is not in bales, in quantities less than two hundred fifty pounds (250 lbs.).(b) Any violation of this section is a Class C misdemeanor.Acts 1917, ch. 88, §§ 1, 2; Shan., §§ 6800a9, 6800a10; Code 1932, §§ 11268, 11269; T.C.A.
