Section 49-11-401 - Legislative intent

(a) It is declared to be the intent of the general assembly to establish a statewide system of state colleges of applied technology to meet more adequately the occupational and technical training needs of citizens and residents of this state, including employees and future employees of existing and prospective industries and businesses in this state.(b) The individual colleges of applied technology established by this part shall be known as 'Tennessee College of Applied Technology - ' followed by the name of the city, town or place in which or near which the college is located.Amended by 2013 Tenn.
