Section 49-2-108 - Separate-sex schools

(a) The local school boards are authorized to provide separate schools for persons of the male sex and persons of the female sex. The determination of the necessity for such separate schools is vested in the exclusive discretion of the school board.(b) Nothing in this section shall be construed to amend existing laws relative to the issuance of school bonds nor otherwise alter the laws pertaining to school construction.Acts 1957, ch. 98, § 1; 1974, ch. 654, §§ 33, 34; T.C.A., § 49-230.
