Section 49-6-4404 - Physical examination of student - Student's remedies

(a) Within forty-eight (48) hours of the imposition of corporal punishment within the special school district, the pupil shall have the right to be examined by a physician to determine if the punishment was excessive.(b) In any case in which the punishment is excessive, the pupil shall have the same civil and criminal remedies as any other pupil in the public schools.Acts 1980, ch. 571, § 1; T.C.A. § 49-9-205.
