(a) The University of Tennessee, through the Institute for Public Service, may provide assistance to local governments for residential building inspection programs.(b) Assistance shall be provided on both the technical and financial levels with regard to the administration of inspection services and enforcement of building and housing codes.(c) Training programs for the personnel to staff local building inspection services, as well as minimum staffing requirements, shall be established for all local governments aided under this section.Acts 1974, ch. 789, § 1; T.C.A., § 49-3359.
