Section 5-1-214 - Charter adoption - Effective date

If a charter is approved as provided in § 5-1-209, the charter form of government shall take effect in the county on September 1 of the year in which the terms of the incumbent members of the county legislative body expire; provided, that such referendum shall have been held at least eighty (80) days prior to such date.Acts 1979, ch. 402, § 14; T.C.A., § 5-134.
