Section 5-14-106 - County purchasing commission

(a) A county purchasing commission is hereby created.(b)(1) The commission shall consist of five (5) members, one (1) of whom shall be the county mayor; the remaining four (4) shall be appointed by the county mayor with the approval of the county governing body.(2) The members of the commission need not be members of the county governing body.(c) Such commission shall elect its own chair and shall meet from time to time as it may deem necessary for the discharge of its duties.(d) It is the duty of the commission to assist the purchasing agent in the determination of overall purchasing policies and in the establishment and promulgation, in accordance with this part, of rules, regulations and procedures to be followed in the making of purchases and contracts for purchase for the county. The actual administration of such activity shall be the sole responsibility of the purchasing agent.Acts 1957, ch. 312, § 5; impl. am.
