(a) The county mayor shall devote full time to the duties and demands of the office unless the voters of the county, by means of a referendum authorized by Acts 1979, chapter 145, § 2, determine that such duties and demands are insufficient to require full-time action.(b)(1) The county mayor shall receive for the county mayor's services such compensation as established in § 8-24-102.(2) Such minimum salary shall apply to a county mayor who devotes full time to such office.(3) The salary of a county mayor who devotes less than full time to such office shall be determined by resolution of the county legislative body.Acts 1978, ch. 934, § 17; 1979, ch. 145, § 1; T.C.A., § 5-605; Acts 1982, ch. 890, § 1; 1996, ch. 936, § 2; 1998, ch. 590, § 1; 2003, ch. 90, § 2.
