Section 5-9-108 - Medical services

(a) The county legislative body or governing body of each county is authorized and empowered in its discretion to appropriate from the general funds of such county a sum of money for the purpose of defraying the cost of acquiring real estate and partially funding the operation of a nonprofit corporation that provides, through the national health service corps, medical services to members of the community for a fee and to indigent patients without charge; provided, that such nonprofit corporation is eligible for financial assistance by agencies of the state or federal government under any of its programs.(b) Any funds appropriated for this purpose need not be repaid to the county by the nonprofit corporation.Acts 1973, ch. 148, § 1; impl. am.
