Section 50-3-405 - Violation of standard or regulation - Nonserious violation - Willful or repeat violations - Penalties

(a) Any employer who has received a citation for a violation of this chapter or standard or regulation promulgated pursuant to this chapter, and the violation is specifically determined not to be of a serious nature, may be assessed a penalty of up to seven thousand dollars ($7,000) for each violation.(b) Any employer who willfully or repeatedly violates the requirements of this chapter or standard or regulation promulgated pursuant to this chapter may be assessed a penalty of up to seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) for each violation.Acts 1974, ch. 585, § 34; T.C.A., §§ 50-534, 50-535; Acts 1991, ch. 170, §§ 3, 4.
